Equipment
Obviously choice of gear is a personal one, but regardless of which equipment is used or how much it costs, the most important thing is what you do with it!
A list of my photographic equipment is as follows:-
Camera: Nikon D700 DSLR.
Lenses: AF Zoom-Nikkor 24-85mm f/2.8-4D IF, AF Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4-5.6 G, AF Micro-Nikkor 60mm f2.8 D (Nikon call their macro lenses ‘micro’!).
Nikon MC-30 Remote Cable Shutter Release.
Filters: Lee Polariser, Lee Neutral Density Graduated Filters – 1 stop, 2 stops & 3 stops – soft & hard. Also as I don’t usually use the foregoing filters when I’m doing macro work, I have fitted a Nikon Neutral Colour filter to my Micro-Nikkor to protect the lens.
Tripod: Manfrotto 055MF3 Magfiber with Manfrotto 486RC2 Ball Head.
Last, but not least, is my cheapest piece of kit – a £10 hotshoe mounted 2-bubble spirit level, to provide a level check on two planes. Vital in ensuring level horizons, etc.
One final observation on ‘equipment’ – one mustn’t forget the use of one’s eyes and legs, without which…!!!
